In the first part of this article we showed that is was possible to design and construct electrostatic driving units which were capable of applying a force which virtually acted directly on the air, and we showed that this force was linear...

There are discussions here about whether there is a requirement for transistors to be given a different symbol in schematic diagrams to that used for valves (tubes). That is how long ago these designs date from. Peter Walker was truly ahead of his time.
